+ Luxury Watch Made From Sailboat Carbon Fiber. Introducing Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa
Last year, Panerai, a brand merging the elegance of Swiss watchmaking with artistic Italian design, and BRABUS, a luxury mobility brand headquartered in Germany, embarked on a partnership inspired by their shared ambition to redefine the boundaries of technology, style, and performance in their respective fields.
United by their commitments to crafting tools for dynamic explorers, the two brands created a series of watches, each a perfect blend of the best of both, forming a unique identity.
The new watch from the partnership
The newest timepiece from this collaboration is a companion to a new entry in the BRABUS Marine Shadow series of luxury motorboats, distinguished by a discreet shade of green.
The Panerai Submersible S BRABUS Verde Militare shares a host of important features introduced by its predecessors but stands apart with the use of new materials and a completely reimagined design.
Available in a limited edition of 200 pieces, the Submersible S BRABUS Verde Militare model features a 47 mm case made of Carbotech, a material used for the first time in high-end watchmaking by Panerai.
Details of the new Submersible S Brabus Verde Militare
Lighter than steel or titanium and corrosion-resistant, Carbotech is strong and adaptable, making it an obvious choice for modern-day heroes facing adverse conditions in their adventures.
Military green shades also distinguish this reference; the subtle hue appears on the hands, bezel, rubberized crown, am/pm indicator, and the sub-seconds dial. Meanwhile, the presence of the BRABUS logo on the movement lever and loop signifies the watch’s collaborative nature.
Technical details
The Panerai Submersible S BRABUS Verde Militare is powered by a movement based on the P.4000 caliber, the first automatic movement with an off-center micro rotor. Its descendant Calibre P. 4001/S is a skeletonized automatic movement with a three-day power reserve whose indicator is visible on the case back.
The 47 mm watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel to measure immersion time and a GMT function, while the single-piece off-center oscillating weight allows bidirectional winding, with the two spring barrels efficiently winding the watch during use.
With its skeletonized structure – the bridges and plates have been reduced to essentials to reveal the movement’s workings – the watch is notably lightweight. Furthermore, the stop balance wheel and second reset devices allow the time to synchronize with a reference time signal.
Water-resistant up to 30 bar (approximately 300 meters), this edition of Panerai Submersible S BRABUS Verde Militare (PAM01283) features two straps, one black bimaterial version made of cow leather fused with a rubber base and a second strap in military green rubber. A screwdriver to remove the buckle is also included.
